More Football: We enjoyed another football Sunday at the local pub with friends from m/v Tanuki & m/v Griffin. We met up with several other boaters, so the marina was well-represented. We had senior brain training trying to watch games for at least 4 teams!
Arts & Crafts: Manufacturing, actually. A friend on the dock offered to engrave our logo using the C&C machinery at his shop (family). Ray prepared the computer graphics, and the captain of s/v Grace ran the equipment. All of the items look great, but the wooden charger is gorgeous!
Halloween! The marina hosted a party with open bar, heavy hors d'oeuvres, and an awesome disco band. The weather was not cooperative for a poolside party, so the marina staff worked hard to clear about half of the clubhouse for a 4-piece band and dancefloor, while leaving some seating for spectators.
Our friends on m/v Destination ?? were back from their summer road trip in time to dance the night away with us.
A friend said he didn't recognize some poeple until half-way through the party. He said I looked very different, but he recognized me as soon as I opened my mouth (to talk). I guess I sounded like a southern "Day of the Dead" Disco Queen.
A visit from mv JADIP (Just Another Day In Paradise). We enjoyed a short visit from friends during the afternoon before the halloween party. They have started the Great Loop and their boat is "parked" for the winter (while the locks are closed). Glad they made an effort to stop by while in Jacksonville for personal business.
Carson came to Florida! He missed the halloween party by 1 day. Dang it!
His puppy Luca joined him for the 6-hour drive. Carson "rescued" him when he was abandoned in the bathroom of the apartment below him. He is a well-mannered puppy. We are hoping his separation anxiety will gradually improve.
We had a hot & humid heat wave while he was here, but that made for a nice trip to the beach. Carson found a nice shady fenced dog park for Luca to run around in -- so he could take me for an even faster spin back at the grassy field at the marina. 😃
Luca settled in to the boat life pretty quickly, and I think he loved his vacation at the marina!
Though I heard he was pretty excited to get back home too.
Visiting with Carson twice in the same month? October was a great month! 🧡
